Autism Acceptance Month

April is Autism Acceptance Month

Autism Acceptance Month encourages embracing and celebrating the unique qualities of individuals on the autism spectrum. By fostering understanding and inclusion, we can create a society that recognizes their talents and strengths. Let’s move beyond awareness, embrace neurodiversity, and work towards a world where people with autism feel valued, respected, and supported in reaching their full potential.

Autism, or autism spectrum disorder (ASD), refers to a broad range of conditions characterized by challenges with social skills, repetitive behaviors, speech and nonverbal communication. According to the Centers for Disease Control, autism affects an estimated 1 in 36 children in the United States today. - AutismSpeaks.org

Another study examined the effects of vibroacoustic technology on challenging behaviors in individuals with autism and developmental disabilities. They found that the use of vibroacoustic technology reduced self-injurious, stereotypic, and aggressive destructive behaviors in participants.
